HEAVY SOOT    ACCUMULATION ON ELECTRODE OR PILOT TIP

REMOVE & CLEAN PILOT TIP AND ELECTRODE

IGNITION CABLE DAMAGED BROKEN OR BURNED   REPLACE WIRE
 LOW BATTERY VOLTAGE    CHARGE OR REPLACE AS REQUIRED
POOR CONNECTIONS TO ELECTRODE OR BATTERY   CLEAN & TIGHTEN ALL CONNECTIONS TO BATTERY & ON TERMINAL BLOCK
PILOT FLAME FAILS IMPROPER PLACEMENT OF ELECTRODE PLACE ELECTRODE CLOSER TO PILOT TIP TO MAXIMIZE ARC
NO SPARK ON ELECTRODE     SEE "IGNITOR FAILS TO SPARK"
NO PILOT GAS SUPPLY   CHECK FOR CLOSED VALVES OR PLUGGED ORIFICE, REGULATORS, OR STRAINER

  IMPROPER GROUND INSTALL GROUND WIRE FROM  PANEL TO BURNER PIPEING
  GROUND FAULT BETWEEN BATTERY NEGATIVE AND VESSEL PIPING   CHECK ALL WIRING AND VALVES FOR A SHORT TO PILOT BURNER TIP
DAMAGED IGNITION CABLE    REPLACE CABLE
GUARDIAN PANEL NOT  ELECTRICALLY GROUNDED    INSTALL GROUND WIRE FROM  PANEL TO BURNER PIPEING
